Art

At St Margaret Mary’s, we believe that Art is a vital part of a well-rounded education, fostering creativity, imagination, and self-expression in every student.

Our dedicated Art program encourages students to explore their ideas, experiment with different techniques, and develop confidence in their artistic abilities.

Leading our program is our experienced and passionate Art teacher, Emma McGuirk, who has been inspiring young artists at our school for over 20 years. Emma brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to the classroom, providing students with engaging lessons that introduce them to a variety of artistic styles, mediums, and cultural influences.

Through painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media, students learn to think critically, solve problems creatively, and appreciate the power of visual storytelling. Art lessons are designed to be hands-on and exploratory, allowing students to express themselves while developing technical skills.

Our school values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence are woven into our Art program, encouraging students to appreciate their own work and that of others. Whether creating a collaborative mural or an individual masterpiece, our students develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts and the confidence to express their unique perspectives.
